Havana
Black and white photographs from one of the most colourful places on earth.
There is a sense of generosity in Cuba despite the poverty which is everywhere. The lack of economic resources springs from years of political struggle but does not seem to have found its way into the hearts of the people who live there.
These photographs were made during a visit to meet printmakers and photographers with Carlos Ordonez.
Like the visit itself a meeting with photographers Pedro Abascal and Thomas Lindahl Robinson was fleeting but their work, and their friendship, over colossal distances, has remained influential and is lasting.
